FAQ
What type of services does Brain Fit Academy offer?
Brain Fit Academy offers 1:1 movement based therapy which addresses brain organization and emotional developmental support for ages 6 to adult. Adult education, workshops, and presentations for parents and professionals are also available.
Is there an evaluation process before participating in the Brain Fit Academy program?
The Brain Fit approach to treatment is individualized. An initial screening is required in order to customize the 1:1 work.
Where does the therapy take place?
The initial screening as well as follow up appointments take place in our home-based clinic located in Hopedale, MA.
How long are the 1:1 therapy sessions?
Sessions are one hour, typically one time per week for children; as-needed for adults.
For how long will therapy sessions be needed?
Duration of treatment varies based on age, developmental needs, and carryover between appointments. Generally, this is four to twelve months.
Do parents need to be present when children are being seen?
An adult must be present during the therapy sessions. Parent participation is beneficial as it provides an opportunity for education and enhancement of the therapeutic process.
Does Brain Fit Academy offer parent educational classes?
Yes, we are strong advocates of parent education. Our experience has been that when parents fully learn and understand the Brain Fit Model and their child’s strengths and needs, the child makes deeper progress, faster.
Please see our Courses/Workshops page for the current schedule of classes.
